What a Friend

I was reading about David and Jonathan today, and I was struck with the fierce loyalty that these men shared one with the other. What a friendship they had. Here are three things that stuck out to me.

• Jonathan and David's friendship was solid through the good times and the bad times.
• Jonathan and David's friendship was mutual
• Jonathan and David's friendship was full of self-sacrifice.

I got to thinking about another friendship that was foreshadowed in this text, that is our friendship with Jesus Christ. He is a friend that sticks closer than a brother. "What a friend we have in Jesus.."
